Dr Coady has been a Gynaecological Radiologist for 26 years within the NHS in a large tertiary referral centre. She was the Head of the fetal and gynaecological ultrasound department leading a team of 14 senior sonographers. She performed gynaecological and obstetric scans every day of her working life, providing an expert Consultant 2nd opinion on the whole gamut of gynaecological pathologies. She established the endometriosis diagnostic and assessment screening service and performed all of the endometriosis scans. She provided a sonographic service for the appropriate assessment and triage of pelvic masses negating the need for MRI by introducing the IOTA Adnex model into everyday practice in the department. She also performed transrectal assessment in the diagnosis of gynaecological pathology. For every day of her 26 years she was involved in teaching and training, establishing and ensuring maintenance of the highest quality and standards of ultrasound scans. She has lectured throughout her career for the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaegologists RCOG, the Royal College of Radiologists RCR and British Medical Ultrasound Society BMUS in addition to participating in local and regional and national training programmes. She believes passionately in the value of gynaecological ultrasound and genuinely loves scannings!

Dr Coady attended Trinity College Medical School from 1980 to 1986 and qualified from there in June 1986. She achieved her MRCP (UK) in February 1991 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in April 1997. She completed her specialist training in Radiology in November 2000 and then achieved the Diploma of Advanced Training in Obstetric Ultrasound June 2000. She became a Radiology Consultant, Head of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound in February 2001. She was in post until July 2023.
