Prof Gillham has been a Consultant in the St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network (SLRON) since 2008. He sub-specialises in the treatment of sarcomas, gynaecological, colorectal and haematological malignancies as well as benign thyroid conditions (thyrotoxicosis and thyroid eye disease). He is the radiation oncology lead for colorectal cancers in St James Hospital and the National Lead for Sarcoma.
Clinical Associate Professor Charles Gillham graduated from University College London Medical School in 1994. He gained MRCP in 1998 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists in 2001. He then undertook an MD at Trinity College, Dublin followed by a 1-year fellowship at the University of Dresden, Germany.
Prof Gillham has published over 50 articles in his areas of expertise. He is an active member of Cancer Trials Ireland and is the Chief Examiner in Radiation Oncology for the Faculty of Radiology, RCSI. He was clinical lead at the SLRON-St James site (2013-2022) and is now the Network Director at SLRON.
