How the Scheme Works 

From June 2nd 2025, patients in Northern Ireland who have been on a waiting list for surgery or medical treatment for two years or more may be eligible for faster care in the Republic of Ireland, with pre-approved costs reimbursed through the Health & Social Care (HSCNI) new Waiting List Reimbursement Scheme.
