I graduated in 1994 with Laude as a Medical Doctor from the University La Sapienza of Rome, Italy, and pursued a comprehensive five-year training program in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery at the same university where I graduated in 1999 with Laude. My training included invaluable international experiences, such as observing surgeries at Cappagh Orthopaedic Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, under the mentorship of esteemed professionals like Prof Tim O'Brien and Mr Martin Walsh. In 2024 I got my four year PhD degree in Orthopaedic physiopathology with Laude.
Upon completing my training, I honed my skills as an orthopaedic registrar at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital, specializing in primary and revision joint replacement surgeries. Subsequently, I focused on revision joint replacement and tumour surgery under the guidance of Prof. Santori in Rome.
Over the years, I have held various public and private locations as Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon roles at prestigious institutions such as Santo Spirito Hospital in Sassia, Rome, and L. Spolverini Hospital and Quisisana private Clinic in Rome, where I spearheaded the Joint Replacement Unit. My responsibilities ranged from managing casualty and in-patient care to conducting elective and trauma surgeries.
My expertise extends to hip and knee primary and revision surgeries, with a particular focus on arthroplasty. Notably, during my tenure at Adelaide and Meath National Children Hospital in Dublin, Ireland, I specialized in lower limb reconstructive surgery and managed complex trauma cases as the National Pelvis and Acetabular Fracture Center.
In April 2018, I was appointed as the Director of the Orthopaedic and Trauma Department at Santa Scolastica Hospital of Cassino, where I oversee a team of six orthopaedic assistants and manage a high-volume caseload of trauma and elective surgeries. Under my leadership, the hospital has achieved remarkable success in the treatment of femoral neck fractures in elderly patients through a dedicated regional fast-track program.

In 2022 I started working as Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon in Midlands Regional Tullamore Hospital where I’m still based.

My research activity encompasses a diverse range of areas, from gait analysis in cerebral palsy patients in Central Remedial Clinic with supervision of Prof. T. I’ve been involved in human cartilage research, particularly in orthopaedic operations, and have contributed to the trial of the Italian Fitmore stem Zimmer Group, focusing on joint replacement. Additionally, I serve as an advisor for the regional orthopaedic association, mentoring young residents.
